SIKASOK
Khayamiya Socks (Red)
Khayamiya is a style of appliqué used accross the Middle East to decorate tents and screens during Ramadan and other special events. They are now primarily made in Cairo, Egypt, along a covered market known as the Street of Tentmakers—and while their designs remain popular, the occupation of ‘tentmaker’ is endangered. With this Sikasok, we hope to celebrate the beauty of the tentmakers' work, and shed light on their exceptional craftsmanship.
